Professional

I have taught at Auburn University, Atlanta University and the University of South Australia as a full-time academic staff member. Other universities where I have worked include the University of Florida and Emory University.

Three years of my life were spent as Southern Director of Education for the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai Brith.

Now retired, I do research, write and travel. In 1998 I spent several months as Honorary Visiting Fellow at Jane Franklin College of the University of Tasmania. I returned in 2001 for three months to continue my research into Point Puer Boy's Prison (1834-1849).

I still teach, primarily at the Workers' Educational Association of South Australia, where I run courses in computer applications (including web page design).

Family

I am married to Virginia (Ginnie). Between us we have five children and six grandchildren. We enjoy travel and hope, in 2002 to visit the UK and the USA. Our children are currently in Australia, England and Greece. All of our grandchildren are in Adelaide, South Australia.
